Mahakam River Tour

3 Days / 2 Nights Dayak's Benuaq Tour

Day 01 : Balikpapan – Loa Janan – Tenggarong – Muara Muntai (L/D)

Starting from Balikpapan to Loa Janan. Cruise up the Mahakam River by Houseboat to Muara Muntai. Transit at Tenggarong to visit Mulawarman Museum (Former Kutai Kingdom Palace). Accommodation and meals on boat.

Day 02 : Muara Muntai – Tanjung Issuy (B/L/D)

Arrive at Muara Muntai, possibly transfer to Tanjung Issuy by Motorized canoe to cross the Jempang lake. Welcome ceremony by Benuaq Dayaks will be provide when you arrive at Tanjung Issuy. Transfer to mancong (Long House) by car. In the evening return to Tanjung Issuy. Accommodation and meals on boat.

Day 03 : Tanjung Issuy – Loa Janan – Balikpapan (B/L)

Early morning return downstream to Loa Janan. Stop over at Senoni, a floating market or Lekaq Kidau to take a picture of Long ears and tattoos (Dayak Kenyah Village). Arrive at Loa Janan and direct transfer to Balikpapan. Thank you for your trust to us and see you on the next tour.

Day 01 : Balikpapan – Loa Janan – Tenggarong – Muara Muntai (L/D)

Starting from Balikpapan to Loa Janan. Cruise up the Mahakam River by Houseboat to Muara Muntai. Accommodation and meals on boat.

Day 02 : Muara Muntai – Tanjung Issuy – Melak (B/L/D)

Arrive at Muara Muntai, and the tour will be continued by motorized canoe to Tanjung Issuy. Upon arrival at Tanjung Issuy, you will be welcomed by Tradisional Dance of local Benuaq Dayak. In the evening return to Muara Muntai and continue the trip to Melak. Accommodation and meals on boat.

Day 03 : Melak – Kota Bangun (B/L/D)

Early morning arrive at Melak. Halfday excursion by car to Eheng to see a Benuaq Dayak’s long house. Proceed to Kersik luway to observe the nature forest with its black orchid. Early evening return downstream to Tenggarong.

Accommodation and meals on boat.

Day 04 : Kota Bangun – Tenggarong – Loa Janan – Balikpapan (B/L)

Arrive at Kota Bangun in the morning. Followed by sunrise safari along Mahakam River. Afterwards return to Tenggarong. Visit the Mulawarman museum at Tenggarong before to Balikpapan. Thank you for your trust to us and see you on the next tour.
